I had a central a/c tune up appointment for this morning scheduled between 8-11. Joe F arrived at 8:15 and called from the front of my house with instructions. He was courteous and professional and was wearing a mask. I waited for him to finish (roughly 15-20 minutes) on my front porch. This was my first experience with Universe Appliance. A co-worker had recommended them to me and when I saw a coupon for a Central AC unit tune-up, I decided to give them a try. I couldn’t have been happier. From my phone call to book the appointment (with a woman who was very courteous and answered all my questions) right up until my technition Joe F. left, it was nothing but positive. Joe arrived early (introducing himself with a smile), and proceeded to explain what he was going to do both inside and outside the house. He was extremely careful when setting up the ladder to gain access into my attic. He then checked everything - even offered to put one of my new filters in and open all the vents to check the air flow in all rooms. At the end of the appointment and at my request he gave me a copy of the contract they offered and suggested what I could do in the future (with treating the outside line re/ possible dirt and debris) to keep the unit working efficiently. He was courteous and professional and a real asset to the company he works for. The total experience was more than I could’ve hoped for. I have used universe two years ago to install a brand new gas boiler and everything went well. Yesterday, Joe F, the tech was a nice guy however when I was stranded and had a broken unit once again after him leaving my house only 9 hours later and I kept attempting to have a rep from universe come to my house on a Sunday I got zero call backs even when I stated I have a two week old newborn and have no where to go with these hot temperatures. I finally was able to find a local vendor to take care and correct what universe could not diagnose. I will never use or let anyone of my family or friends use them due to their lack of knowledge and ability to get back to their stranded clients. I was shocked how quickly Joe arrived. He got here in just minutes after I called. He quickly checked everywhere for the leak that couldn't be found. It was determined that the melting snow and ice somehow crept into my basement through the foundation. It never happened before and hopefully won't happen again. Joe really tried very hard and made every effort to locate where the water came in but was unable cause it came in from behind the wall. Don't ever lose this employee. (See More)
