We have been serving the New Haven area since 1931, when Erwin S. Tracey went into business as Tracey's Range Oil in the City Point neighborhood. Erv's son Robert joined the business in 1945 as the fuel truck driver, and the company was renamed Tracey & Son. Robert relocated the business to the current Howard Avenue site in 1967. In 1987, Robert's daughter Jennifer, and her husband Ralph, became the third generation to be directly involved in the family business. In 1989, Robert's son Christopher joined the company as head of marketing and sales.
Tracey Energy Services, LLC was formed in 1997 by Jennifer and Ralph. It is a landmark business in the history of City Point — and the Tracey family remains committed to its tradition of "dependable service and commitment to our customers."

This company goes well above and beyond all expectations. They provide such high quality service and dedication to excellent service. I come from a very different town and was so absolutely delighted to have a company NOT rip me off and charge extra fees at every opportunity. Keith did a stellar job. Personable, knowledgeable, a good listener and very skilled at his craft, he improved the comfort of our home immensely. We can now regulate the heat in our family room with ease. He also stopped the roaring, loud shaking sounds we had endured for too long from our furnace. The heating system would not respond to the thermostats and Ricky worked hard to identify the cause. Ultimately it turned out tha part required would not be available until the next day. Ricky installed s bypass that allowed me to run the system manually to heat the house that night.
The next morning the service manager came with the part and finished the repair. The system has operated since then without any issues.

I recently switched back to CentsAble/Tracey and could not be more pleased. Everyone I have had contact with has been courteous and professional, polite, respectful and so kind. From the office staff to delivery men to the service department, all have exceeded my expectations. I would especially like to commend Gary and David from service department. Immediately after I switched back to them, I had to call several times for no heat. I had minimal wait times before service arrived, and in each case, technicians arrived within the time frame that office staff said they would. Also, I got a telephone call from office to let me know technician was on his way prior to every visit. In each case, prompt and accurate diagnosis was made. Ricky tested the burner transformer and other parts on my furnace and thought my reset problem could be caused by a flat spot on the burner motor. Before going to the expense of replacing the motor though, he first recommended waiting to see if the burner still needed resetting. After doing 5 resets in one week, I called again and this time Tony came out, confirmed the flat spot and replaced the burner motor. There was no service charge for the second call, just the cost of motor replacement. I thought both Ricky and Tony were very competent, professional and personable.
