This company is a total rip off. They came to my clients home to do several simple plumbing issues, spent a total of two hours in the home and handed my client a bill for $2304 AFTER their DISCOUNT!! Outrageous!! (See More)

Our furnace recently stopped working and we called Minneapolis Saint Paul Plumbing Heater Air. Having very little knowledge about these things, Thomas E. was extremely helpful and knowledgeable in answering all of our questions and offering suggestions on how to fix our furnace. We did end up deciding to replace it and he went over every option for a replacement furnace with us and his team showed up to get to work about 30 minutes later. Very satisfied with this experience and will definitely be coming to do again with all of our plumbing and heating needs! (See More)

Customer for several years, have always had good service. They installed my replacement hot water heating system 11 years ago and had few problems with it. Today I had Tom E. come out to check the pilot light and go over a maintenance check. Found the pressure safety valve was old and leaking a bit(dirt). Replaced that and all should be well for a while. Expensive repair but worth the piece of mind. (See More)

Requested diagnosis of water leakage from furnace. Very thorough inspection with pictures, despite Center Point's assurance that everything was in great shape and "this furnace will last for years." We made the decision to replace rather than repair the furnace. Air conditioner was replaced at the same time with a good price break. All old equipment was removed within two hours of signing the contract and all new equipment was installed right away the next day. (See More)

For the most part, the experience was positive. The technician was very knowledgeable. The negative aspect had to do with their pricing structure. They charged me $179 to clean the coils on my air conditioner when all you had To do was hock up a spray bottle that retailed for $17.25 to a hose and spray the Coils. Also, the cost of the new furnace seemed to be on the expensive side. (See More)

Impressive. Scheduled for 8am-10am. Received a call at 7:45am letting me know they were on the way. Showed up at 8am and wrapped up by about 10:15. Walked me through all issues and provided a detailed and appropriately technical explanation of concerns (along with pictures). Clean, courteous and professional. We called after finding a gas leak in our furnace. Thomas arrived within the quoted window and gave me a few options on services. He repaired the leak and tightened the joints. While doing so, he pointed out what and where he was doing the work, as well as some tips for future preventative maintenance. Great customer service both on the phone and the service expert himself. MSP showed up timely and courteously took care within the home and diagnosed my boiler was not functioning in a safe manner and offered me options to correct the issues. Thomas E. took great time with me to explain what was going on and talked to me about my different options and how MSP could be of service. We decided to replace our boiler and a service team was there within the hour to replace the boiler. The gentlemen that replaced the boiler worked quickly and efficiently together to quickly complete the job to return heat to our home. Great experience. (See More)

MSP Plumbing and Heating called to schedule our yearly check-up for our furnace. Mr. Thomas Erronis came and set about checking everything out. Imagine our surprise when he said "Mr. Stephens, you have a carbon monoxide leak and I cannot turn your furnace back on!" He showed us the crack in the heating element and the CO2 reading on his detector. He then went above and beyond to: provide the information AND photos to our financing source, set up the installation THE NEXT DAY, had space heaters brought into our home, explained what we were purchasing and why and calmed a situation that for us, was extremely scary. If the installers our anything like Mr. Erronis, it will be smooth sailing. Thank you all so much. (See More)

He helped us pick out the appropriate furnace package (all the time explaining differences in systems in plain English using terms, etc. in understandable ways. To say he was "helpful" would greatly undermine his qualities as a service provider. Not only courteous, he's also pleasant, considerate, cheerful, professional, and represented the Company well.. I was hesitant to continue with the furnace tuneup I had scheduled because my previous appointment had been postponed due to emergencies the company had that day. I am so glad I kept the second appointment as they definitely redeemed themselves. The service guy Thomas E. renewed my faith in MSP Heating by being extremely thorough in his explanations of what he was doing and the couple of issues that I may want to address to make my furnace more efficient. I wasn't pressured to buy any product or service but instead was given an explanation of why I may want to get some things done and what the cost would be. Had possibly the best service call experience I've ever had today, across any kind of building or equipment contractor or type of service out there. Had a non-functional furnace just as cold temperatures were approaching. Received very fast scheduling from MSP-PHA and Thomas E was the service expert who came by today. Extremely knowledgeable, and very helpful and friendly. Provided the most detailed breakdown of required work optional work that I've ever received including showing examples in the furnace itself. Decided on a new furnace since repairs were creeping up there price-wise, but did not feel pressured or rushed into it. Tom should probably be writing the book for Plumbing/Heating/Air customer service but that would be problematic since he would then not have time to actually be out in the field providing this level of great service. Thomas E at Minneapolis St. Paul Plumbing and Heating is just a great person. My boiler was not working, and he immediatedly figured out the problem. During his service call, he explained and reviewed my system which is a bit complicated (boiler, air conditioning, water pump, and humdifier) in concise, simple terms. I think Thomas can pretty much figure out any problem with heating and cooling. It was actually fun to talk to him about how things work. He is truly an artist! (See More)

We use MSP because we want more than service and parts, we want good advice on appropriate solutions. We've had multiple issues with our furnace and AC. We felt one solution was inappropriately sold to us because our equipment was so old it did not have repair parts available (and thus was not worth fixing the electrical supply to it). MSP offered a credit on our account to compensate us for what we felt was poor guidance on their part. While the diagnosis and solutions were difficult due to our specific equipment, MSP resolved them all with good customer service. (See More)

I was extremely pleased with their responsiveness and ability to schedule an appointment after normal working hours. A frustrating morning, walked down to the basement and encountered a pool of water that should not have been there. Further investigation revealed a moisture removal pump problem. Lot's of wet boxes, fear of material loss and stress. After hearing the company's commercials on KQRS radio, a call was placed. Operator very friendly and calming, an appointment was made. A couple hours before the scheduled appointment i received a phone call telling me a service member was on his way. Thomas ******* was personable, knew his craft and made the situation very easy and quick. Tom arrived on time and after I explained the problem w/ the air cond. he did a through inspection of the system and determined that a previous tech from the same company had removed Freon from my air cond. that did not need to be removed causing my system to not work properly. I called Mpls St. Paul Plumbing, Heating, and Air to see if they could send a service technician the same day - my ductless AC was not operating at full capacity. I was preparing for a party the next day and was concerned about the AC. The person who took my call was very friendly and helpful and was able to send a technician out that day, mid-day. Thomas E. arrived during the scheduled time period and was very professional and helpful. He took the time to explain the problem, showed me the options for repair, and made sure that I understood the work he'd performed before he left. The AC unit has been working well ever since. We woke up to an electrical/burning smell in the house one morning. After searching high and low, we pinpointed the source as the utility room -- where the furnace/AC unit is located. I filled out an online form for St. Paul Plumbing & Heating at 6am (there was a sticker from a previous service visit right on the unit; I didn't even perform a search for another company) and by 7am I got a callback. They said they could have a technician at the house "certainly before noon;" of course I took this with a grain of salt and figured it'd be closer to 1:30 :) However, the tech -- Thomas E. -- showed up at the house by 9:20am. I was pleasantly surprised! Thomas was extremely polite, courteous and friendly. He took the time to check out the entire unit and then sat me down to go over the options. Of course, they were expensive -- this type of equipment doesn't come cheap, especially when it's burning out (the motor'd essentially died, hence the electrical smell) -- but he didn't pressure for the utmost in expenses. He ended up having another tech come and relieve him as he'd been promised onsite at another client's so Mike Anderson finished up. Mike, by the way, isn't just a good worker -- he's chock-full of humor and super-personable. Overall we paid a LOT of money to get the A/C unit up and running again, but that's life. Turns out we were over-working it by using heavy-duty air filters (making the motor work all the harder to push air through them) as well as not having cleaned the actual equipment outside enough (the cottonwood/dirt/gunk on it was making it work at 275 something-or-other when it's supposed to be at 210 (psi??? I can't remember) -- which they got it working at after all their effort). Is this company expensive? Yes -- but they also responded immediately to my request for a call and got me in same-day, PLUS fixed the issue on a day of extremely high humidity and over 80 degrees. I'd say the peace of mind -- and a working A/C unit in the middle of a VERY hot summer -- along with their excellent customer service is worth every penny. (See More)

I called because I had a water leak from the A/C unit in our home and the first person I spoke with was very helpful. When the technician showed up today, Thomas E, we was very positive and explained everything he would be looking at and doing today. We walked me through the components of the furnace and A/C units, explained how they all worked together and gave me detailed information as to what the other problems were with our system. He was very up front and honest, laid everything out on the table so I could make an informed decision. Thomas E came to my house on a busy time with summer and the temperatures getting hot, right before July 4th, It was a relief to hear that Thomas E could come out and check out my unit. It's an old Central Air unit and it just wasn't cooling the house. Thomas E. gave me a realistic outlook of what I was up against and helped me keep the old beast alive by diagnosing the problem and making it run much more efficiently. Also, Thomas E. was pleasant and great to work with. He not only performed the job, but was fun to spend time with. Most people don't like when customers watch everything they are doing, but Thomas E. was happy to teach me the things I needed to learn about my Central Air as a home owner. After having St. Paul Plumbing and Heating out a couple of times for the same issue (bad Nest base/thermostat) I finally got Thomas who correctly identified the problem and helped us get our heating and cooling back in working order. He asked great probing questions to hear what the issues were, what I had done personally, and recapped what he had learned from previous repair attempts - Viola! Tom E is AWESOME. We moved in to a new house and on the day we moved in our central A/C stopped working. I called MSP and Tom came out to tell me the bad news that the A/C had a leak and it would be advantageous to replace it. He was able to get the installers out the same day and get us a new furnace before the weekend. Also, when we had a few small issues he resolved them quickly and gave me tips on how to get the most out of our new A/C. I had a standard re-check of my furnace with Thomas E and he was great as well as patient with my questions regarding water going into the system and how the radiators are affected. I have a 101 year old home that has many mysteries, but my furnace isn't one of them thanks to these guys. Jeremy was the initial guy I worked with last year and he was equally as efficient and friendly. I have worked with many contractors all summer and as a single woman had some difficulties with extremes messes and men acting badly. It was so refreshing to work with these people who knew what to do, went right to it, and were respectful throughout the whole process. They also were there right on time. They were also very nice to my cats who were snooping around doing acrobatics the whole time. Personable, clean, friendly, efficient. Thanks! I worked with Jeremy and Thomas E over the past two service repairs and checks. Both guys were memorable because they were pleasant, smart, efficient, friendly and took the time to explain what they were doing and how my radiators function, etc in my very old home. this matters because many women are used to being treated in a dismissive manner with contractors and then paying for it. Thomas was very professional. He asked me what my expectations were before he even began his inspection. He explained everything that he was going to do while checking out my furnace. After he inspected the furnace, he gave me a very detailed explanation of my options. He made sure that i didn't have any questions. He left the decision up to me. He was very quick to get the issue fixed. I believe he was honest and respected my home - including noticing a loose vent in my stairway I have been meaning to get fixed for a long time, which he took the extra minute to fix for me! Tom E has been to our house for both spring AC maintenance and fall Furnace maintenance checks. He's knowledgeable, thorough and very personable. Tom was particularly fastidious in the spring when he cleaned all the cottonwood seeds out of the AC heat exchanger. He reviewed all the issue he found, proposed options for any upgrades we might consider and did so without any 'hard sell' tactics. I would strongly recommend him, and his company, to anyone. Thomas E. was fantastic to work with. He diagnosed several issues with our very old and cranky furnace. Over the years it had been giving us lots of trouble. In the end he spent a lot of time ensuring the problems were really a problem, and providing an honest assessment of the options between repair and replacement. In the end we opted to bite the bullet and replace it. He guided us through a variety of options and displayed great patience as we discussed the choices we had. When we confirmed our choice he quickly set about getting the old equipment removed, scheduling our new installation, and supplying us with heaters to keep us warm until then. In all steps along the way he was very informative, personable, and conscientious. I was very pleased with the service we received. As much as we were disappointed at having to replace our furnace and the expense it incurred, Thomas made the process easy and gave us confidence we were making informed decisions and working with someone who stands behind his work. The only problem we had was the prices were extremely high. It makes it very difficult for retired people to do a replace of any piece of equipment at these prices. Even with the financing program it puts alot of pressure on them. I don't know what they do if they can't afford this. It causes people to price shop versus quality shop. (See More)
