Mitch Porter at MSP Plumbing and Heating did an amazing job. I had an absolutely horrible experience trying to get my home warranty company to replace my furnace after it went out in freezing temperatures in March. Mitch spent hours on the phone with the warranty company. He went so out of his way to help me and provided amazing customer service. I recently had Mitch and Jason to my home to look at my central air condioner system,which had been out for a bit. They arrived promptly and were dressed very professional. They looked at my current system, and after about an hour gave me a report. My unit was 29 years old and I knew that it was time for replacement of the furnace and air conditioner. I was given two options, one for cost to repair the unit and second for full replacement. I chose to replace the units. I did not feel any pressure to overspend if you will. Was given a full explanation of all the units they offer. They also told me about the rebate I would be eligible for. It was a very pleasant experience and do not have any buyers remorse. I was in need of heat at my home and called Mpls/St. Paul Heating. Company rep was very pleasant on the phone, scheduled the service call for later that same day.
Mitch P arrived during the service window (I got a call saying he was on his way about 5 minutes ahead of time).
We talked about what was wrong, he went right to work and determined that I needed a new thermopile. It was great that he the part on his truck and was able to complete the repair quickly. He did a quick inspection of the overall heating system and we talked about potential needs for replacement. Very knowledgable and shared lots of information. He did make some adjustments on the fuel valve to decrease the amount of CO that was being generated and also to decrease the amount of gas consumed which will save me money.

We woke up this morning to a colder than normal house. The furnace was not running. I called and talked to Amanda, she was very pleasant and quickly arranged for a service call for this morning. My furnace died and they called quickly and set up an appointment that same day. I had gotten quotes for similar furnaces from another company scratched out on a carbon copy bill. MSP had this great brochure with all kinds of detail about the different furnaces and options. It was a very helpful way to compare the different models. I made a selection and they were at our home bright and early the next morning and we had heat by the end of the day. Sales people and installers called and doubled checked meeting times and schedules and were very courteous and helpful. Price was great and they did a top quality job. I couldn't be happier. I recently purchased a home that had been flipped however underneath the nice exterior many problems were discovered. Mitch came out and spent three hours going thru each and every item on my list and some items I had yet to discover. I just had my AC fixed. It was the best experience I’ve ever had with a plumbing and heating company. In the future I’m never going to shop around. MSP plumbing and heating will always get my business. This is what I loved:- Mitch was on time and was really friendly with my curious kids. We called MSP today because our air conditioner wasn't working right. Kenny answered my call and was very pleasant to talk with, and he was prompt about scheduling our appointment. The technician Mitch arrived within the agreed time frame. He was friendly and polite (even though I'm sure he had already been working all day). I was so happy that he was able to diagnose the problem and get our system working again. Kenny and Mitch saved the day for us! Now I wont have to spend another night with awful sleep in a hot house. My Father-in-law is 92 years young, lives in his own home and his furnace went out in cold outside temps between 20 and 38 degrees. We called the Excel Energy monthly service provider, Homesmart who I understand subsequently called their
contract work for heating repairs, Midland Heating. After long delays and no real up dates, as to when they would be out to do the repairs the house was only 47 to 51 degrees in it with my Father-in-law, who is 92 years young, with all the warm cloths he owned on trying to keep warm. It took Excel Energy's contractor in excess of four
visits and days before we were forced to call out a professional on a fee for service basis. The first two times and days the contractor was out the technician just cleaned the pilot assembly and pushed some wires around and said that it was repaired. Needless to say, it did not last the night before the furnace would not come back on.
On the third trip out to the house, a different technician finally came back late in the
evening and determined it needed a new ignition modual but he did have one, since they do not stock parts especially on the week-ends. He advised that he would try
to get the required part and be out the next morning to install it. The next morning he
arrived and installed the part but the furnace would not come on. After conferring with
someone he came up stairs and advised the he was taken off the repair project and
did not know when or if someone else would be out. We then called Homesmart to
find out the status and was advised someone would be out the next days between 2PM and 4PM. I was then forced to call out a different fee for service repair service to
fix the furnace. Minneapolis St Paul Heating came out a the designed appointment time and fixed the furnace advising the contractor Midland, wired the new ignition modual wrong. (See More)

Mitch P and Jeff H were the dynamic duo with the installation of a new furnace and air conditioner. Both were true professionals. Mitch came out yesterday to do a 21 point furnace check and found out I needed a new furnace!! It was 25 years old. He took the time to explain why, what and how soon I could have a new furnace put in and Jeff H. came out today to install both. He even fixed a roof vent that came off for me. He finished the work and cleaned everything up and explained the new heating and air conditioning system. Yesterday Mitch came out to adjust my A/C unit that had trouble for the last three years, it did not lower the humidity during the cooling season. He had been out last Fall to correct a heating problem, which he did, and said to call in the summer because he had an idea to correct the cooling and humidity. His experience and knowledge did the trick, he walked me through his every step to explain the system and what he did to correct the problem. In this climate, having 24/7 service is a must. So when our furnace went out on a Saturday night, I discovered rather abruptly that my "usual" heating service provider didn't offer weekend hours. So I combed the Internet and found Minneapolis St. Paul Plumbing Heating and Air. A call to the main number got me in touch with a real person (Hi, Chris!) and she had me talking to a tech (Hi, Mitch!) within minutes. The short version is that my experience with this company was fabulous. They are good people who know their trade and don't upsell you at every turn. Chris made sure I knew when Mitch was going to arrive, and Mitch made sure he had diagnosed the problem fully before making the repair ¿ no "throw parts at it and see if it works" mentality, he was thorough and easy-going.
