Scheduled an appointment between 8am-12pm. Received a call at 11:30 stating technician was on their way. I advised the caller that anything after 12:30 would be tough for me as I work overnight. Gave up and went to bed at 1:30 pm. Woke up to find a missed call, I assume from the tech, at 2:20 pm. Still have no A/C. (See More)

Richard H. Showed up and did what no one else could get done. I had been waiting Just about a month as techs came and went. Leaving me with the same answer, No ma'am I couldn't get your unit working. So FINALLY the company was apologetic and told me they were sending their (BEST)tech out. and that's just what they did. Richard walk in and was walking out in about 35 mins! It was so good to hear, Yes Ma'am your unit is working and you should be cooled off in a little while he then explained to me what the problem was and he told me to call if I had any other problems! Richard H was very thorough when he came to check my central air system last spring. He had even gone above and beyond the call of duty, by quickly recommending a solution to another handyman issue in the utility room, that I had for a long time, not knowing how to resolve. His idea was economical and saved me from having to deal with further complications down the road. I appreciated him for doing this. Blue Dot did a great job installing my new HVAC system. Installers we courteous, clean, worked efficiently, and answered all my questions. Even after a minor glitch with initial install, a field supervisor was back at my house shortly after my phone call. Richard H diagnosed the glitch quickly and had the system running again in no time, and explained everything along the way. (See More)

I was very pleased with the service Richard H. provided from Blue Dot of Maryland. He was very courteous, professional and listened to what I had to say. He assessed what the problem was and although a has to be ordered for my air conditioning system; he gave me suggestions to help keep my home cool until the part come in and it can be installed. After a severe storm, my central ac was out. I should tell you that I have been a customer of Blue Dot for 30 years. I have an unusual system, and Richard H.. is an expert on it - very few of these are around in residential areas. Jamison (the wonderful dispatch manager) dispatched him even though it was 8 p.m. and the roads were flooded. They know of my health issues and really accommodate my needs. Richard is knowledgable and experienced, and I hope he teaches this kind of system o future hires - I will never forget how Blue Dot went above and beyond to help me. (See More)

Dogged expense bullet! Service tech. recommended $729 part and labor repair on A/C unit. Really wanted to replace unit. Got estimates from BlueDot from $6,000-$9500. Ordered part online for $42 and had electrician install for $100 within 20 minutes. That was close. (See More)

Under warrantee compressor was replaced by Blue Dot in February. When we used the AC for the first time in May it cooled for about one day. Service Tech who came out said he adjusted the thermostat and left. AC worked for another day and then just blew hot air but did not cool. Second service tech told us the compressor was failing. AC cooled for another day and then failed holiday weekend. Blue Dot sent out Richard H after 6pm so I would not need to miss another day of work. He diagnosed the problem as having too much refrigerant in the system when the compressor was installed. That was causing the system to overheat. He siphoned off some refrigerant and got the AC functioning again. Finally, cool air. Hopefully it will last and Blue Dot will only be coming out for the routine twice a year maintenance. Richard was professional and was able to explain the problem in a manner in which we could understand. We really appreciate his expertise and ability to get the system working. (See More)

Though Richard H wasn't able to complete the work replacing an aquasmart 2n1 sensor during the initial service call, his professionalism and willingness to explain why some additional repairs will be needed really gave me direction and clarity going forward. I was eventually called back by a manager and quoted an hourly rate that I felt was a little too high for a new blowoff valve and screwing in a thermowell. He told me of a newer hvac system that works efficiently at 17 degrees. So he arranged for someone to come the same day and I speak to me about it. My boiler broke on a Sunday, and Blue Dot sent Richard H., an incredible technician, out within 2 hours. Richard not only found several problems with my boiler, but also noticed that my water heater had a leak that could cause flooding in my basement. Richard H. explained all the problems, told me which ones needed to be done immediately, which repairs possibly could be done in the near future, and the risks of what could happen if I waited to get the non-immediate repairs. At my request, he also gave me the price of the repairs without a service plan and with a service plan. The price with the service plan was a savings, so I bought the service plan. Richard H. & Blue Dot are reliable and trustworthy. I would recommend both highly. (See More)

Richard quickly diagnosed the problem (bad glue joint on the exhaust pipe) and also noticed another unrelated issue which he also brought to our attention. He ordered the parts and did the repairs today. He was quick, efficient and took care of all of the issues, including improving the flow of the exhaust pipe while replacing the PVC pipe with the bad joint. I really like that he noticed the other problem (broken drip pan joint) and took care of that too. That saved me time and effort later dealing with a different repair. Kudos to Richard for being proactive and doing a professional job. (See More)

I wanted to give great feedback to Richard H, who was the Service Technician that came back to my house. I called Blue Dot after another tech came by to perform a seasonal service and when I tried my system it did not come on. I called Blue Dot and they had Richard come out the same day and it was on a Sunday! When Richard arrived he was very detailed in his trouble shooting process. Once he completed his troubleshoot process, he found the issue with the system and went the extra mile to correct it. Once he finished everything, the system was working great and I was extremely pleased with his knowledge and service. Blue Dot is lucky to have a skilled individual like Richard and the should due everything possible to keep him around because he turned my experience around with the company and I will keep doing business as long as he is there! The Blue Dot service was first rate, from first phone call to the end of the service visit. We needed a new thermostat, pronto, and Blue Dot came to our rescue in a timely manner. We understood that there was a remote possibility that the issue was something other than what he repaired, and he told us to just call and he or someone would be out to fix this. Apparently, it is not always easy to know for sure that the issue is fixed until the A/C unit is running for a longer period of time. Yesterday, I had 40 plus people coming to my house for a wedding shower. My A/C unit has been flawless since 2006. Approximately 2 hours before my guests were due, my A/c quit. I called Blue Dot and the telephone message handler was very professional and very nice, but the system on the handoff was apparently very slow. However, once "Jameson" with Blue Dot got my message, she did an EXCELLENT job in arranging assistance. Mr. Richard Humphreys arrived as quickly as scheduling would allow and saved the day! The A/C system had blown a capacitor. These two people deserve special recognition for their efforts!! The frequent communication and status reports I received from Jameson and the excellent repair service eventually from Mr. H. were very impressive and very professional. Many thanks! Richard H. was the only technician that found the problem with our brand new air conditioning system, First the installation people didn't know there was a broken part ( they installed the furnace with a bad part and we had no heat after three days). The service guy for the annual check-up approved everything, Then the air conditioning condensation pan started filling up on the second day of running- that technician said the last service technician shouldn't be checking the air conditioning unit at time of year (huh it was February) because you can't get a correct read on the charge and we needed a new type of condensation pan but we could run the air conditioner while we were home. Two days later the air conditioner cut off again. Richard H. was the technician that came this time. Within a short period of time he determined the cause of the problem (a cracked pan), He emptied the pan, cleaned everything up and said he would put a priority on the replacement pan. When the part came in he and Ian S. quickly and efficiently replaced the part and the air conditioner seems to be working fine. I think if Richard H. had not come out we would still be trying to find the root of the problem. (not to mention -- now do we listen to the third service person and not have the air conditioner checked in cold months?) We rated Richard H. a five but overall this experience with replacing our two systems as recommended by Blue Dot has not be a five star experience. (See More)

Richard Humphreys was the best technician I have ever encountered in over 40 years of hiring local companies for service calls... He was super efficient, got right to the problem in my HVAC unit, and gave me the news straight up that my 25-year-old unit was dead... and he really tried to save it. Then he showed me how to clean the coils on my other unit to prevent an outage until I could get the other one replaced. Fantastic guy, great company... a really great experience for me even though the bad news had to be given! (See More)

As soon as I explained to Richard H. what was going on with my central ac he went directly to the unit and found the problem instantly! What a Professional! to say the least. I had been having issues with the HVAC unit in my home and called Blue Dot based on their online reviews. The first time I was helped by Matt S, who explained the issue I was facing with my unit and quickly worked to address the problem. He didn't try to upsell me on any unnecessary services or treatments and got the work done fast. Unfortunately a few days later the same issue came back. This time Richard H came out to help me and he was great as well. He identified the same issue that Matt saw the first time and took his time working to fix the problem. Again, never tried to pressure me into buying unnecessary service. Both of these guys were great and I found their service to be top notch, I'll definitely use Blue Dot again if I have an issue with my HVAC unit. (See More)

As a new customer I would like to send a big Thank you to Richard H who came by and got my 22 year old A/C unit working. The house was up to 90 degrees. Other companies told me there would be at least a 2 day wait before I could get anyone to come and even look at it. It was raining but he fit me in the same day as I called and never complained. He also answered quite a few questions I had about in ground oil tanks vs. in house models, and was good about giving me information on replacement hot water heaters.
