We had two HVAC systems installed. Ramon and his team did a great job on our Mitsubishi Mini-Split system installation. He stepped up and corrected a few things that the Rheem system install team missed. He stayerd late to make sure we were happy and followed up with his manager, who followed up to me the next day. I had a new heat pump installed by Ramon R. and Jose R. They did an excellent job. They were extremely professional, and courteous. Upon completion of the job, they explained and visually walked through the system both inside and outside. I would also like to say that Will (Sales Rep) was great. Last year, I replaced a 1st floor unit where I first met Will. When I decided to replace my 2nd Floor unit, I didn't hesitate to call him. I am writing this review to specifically give thanks and praise to the A/C installation team that came today: Ramon R and Jose R. They were both professional and friendly. Both hard workers. Both patient in the face of an unanticipated setback. I interacted with Ramon the most who was very knowledgeable. He left me with the impression that he is an expert in fact. I'd recommend Blue Dot with an emphasis on Ramon and Jose to family and friends. The setback I alluded to above was this: the salesperson sold us an A/C system that was too big/too powerful for the duct work it was being attached to, which would have resulted in the coils freezing if I recall correctly. Ramon explained, but this is not my specialty so it is already foggy. Regardless, it would have been bad news down the road if the installation went through as planned. Ramon was able to spot this error, was kind enough to point it out, and both Ramon and Jose were patient enough to wait for an appropriately-sized unit to be delivered to replace the original one they brought. Mistakes happen -- and allegedly this one was because the "load calculation" that is done during the sales pitch is based on square footage and that is not always appropriate if the airflow system the A/C is being attached to does not support that calculation. In all honesty, Ramon spotted this within a minute or less of being there. So it seems like it is something that should have been considered during the sales portion of my experience with Blue Dot. Overall, his expertise and honesty in this scenario is a major positive for Blue Dot. It reflects well on the company and means I will continue to use and recommend their services. I should also note that I've interacted with 3 other Blue Dot service people in the past. One came to check on my furnace over the winter, another came to replace the inducer motor therein, and the other was the technician who recently came to check my broken A/C. All three were professional and reflected well on Blue Dot. To level this out a little, I also want to add that I did feel like I was paying a higher price than is typical based on my expectations from doing a little online research. When I asked the salesperson to itemize the seemingly high price for me, he said that Carrier (the brand of AC I was buying) ultimately didn't like Blue Dot to cheapen their equipment by telling customers their costs like that. I know, I know: obvious nonsense. It was almost enough for me to not use Blue Dot. (See More)

From beginning to end, this was a pleasure. Scott was very knowledgeable and clear in his explanations. I had done research ahead of time but still wasn't sure the type of system would work in our older home. He inspired a lot of confidence, gave us a fair estimate and scheduled the work almost immediately. Ramon and Jose were both great to work with. On 4/24/17 Ramon R. and Chris W, who is an HVAC installation technician with Blue Dot came to my home to install a complete, new HVAC system. He was highly recommended by the Sales representative, as an excellent technician. True to his word, I found Ramon to be extremely pleasant, and willing to answer my questions and accommodate my suggestions. He was very efficient and exacting in his work. We needed to install AC in the upper floors of our home and choose Blue Dot for the job. Ramon and Roth came out with their team to complete the work within two days instead of the three that was originally planned. The entire crew was courteous, respectful and diligent. They did very neat and proper work and left their work areas clean and tidy (they used drop cloths, booties and vacuumed at the end of the job). Ramon and Roth also showed us all the work, explained everything they did and why, explained how to use the new system, and gave us advice about using it and what to check for as the temps change. Their thoroughness, professionalism, and friendly manner were much appreciated. They also made a point to pause and greet our dog (he was corralled in the living room) as they came into the house. This was a complete replacement of the heat/air system, including the compressor, in an old house with very cramped spaces. The crew worked tirelessly, non-stop, replacing the unit in a very tight place. They thoroughly checked the heating and air conditioning before leaving to ensure they were fully functional, and also installed a new carbon monoxide detector. Both the installation crew and the estimator showed up within the promised time frame also, which is always a plus, and they were very professional and helpful. I would highly recommend! (See More)

I was in the market for a new HVAC system, and used Yelp to help me narrow down my list of companies in the Baltimore area. I'm new to the city, so Yelp was vital to my search process. Blue Dot had consistent high ratings. I selected 4 companies to come out and give me an estimate. I live in a 4 story historical condo so there were some challenges: the A/C unit has to go on the roof, the access to the inside Condo furnace room was pull-down stairs, the Heater unit space was limited, etc. etc. Not your normal easy job. Bill, the customer service/sales rep came out and literally spent 2 hours and climbed everywhere - roof, attic, and as a former installer he knew everything and patiently walked me through what they would do, what they needed to do, and where I had some non-code compliance issues that needed to be addressed. He outlined 3 options in terms of A/C and Heater combinations and discussed the features of each very clearly. He talked about the install process and timeline. I've purchased HVAC systems in the past, and I was very impressed. He told me that due to existing wiring to the roof I'd be limited to a single stage/speed unit (i.e. the fan runs at only one speed - high). He did say that he thought they might be able to run a second line - but needed his electrician to take a look. Of my other three contractors, one never showed, one was in and out in 30 minutes and told me only one brand (Airtemp - not a highly rated brand) would fit. The third company rep also was in and out in 30 minutes and his comparable price for a Lennox unit (same brand Blue Dot was proposing) was higher and he missed all of the non-compliance issues that needed to be fixed. I went with Blue Dot and am very happy I did. The install went very well. Ramon and Tony came out and did the install. Ramon was perfect - very knowledgeable, courteous, and even brought in portable AC units so we would be comfortable while they had the AC off during the install. They wore 'booties' and put tarps down to cover the entire work area, and when finished they did a complete cleanup and Ramon patiently walked me through every part of the install- showing me the work that was done, why they did it, what I needed to do under any abnormal circumstances (i.e. water intrusion), and walked me through how to operate the "Edge" thermostat (very impressive thermostat). And - their electrician came out and found a way to run a second wired to the roof so I could utilize the 2-speed feature of our system. We couldn't believe how much quieter the new unit is vs. our old unit, and it works great. And the higher efficiency will save on our utility bills. In summary, the process from start to finish was highly professional, thorough, and their price, while not the lowest, was the best for the high quality Lennox system we selected. I can highly recommend Blue Dot. (See More)

I had two furnaces go down at the same time during the coldest day of the season. Ramon and Steve were excellent and knowledgeable. Their helpers, Charles and Tray were also hard workers. Mike and his helper joined the group and were very instrumental in completing the job under very difficult circumstances. The weather was in the single digits with wind chills below zero, but these men took their time to do a professional installation despite the tough conditions. We really appreciate the prompt, efficient service we received from Blue Dot when we needed to replace our furnace. Ben was there the same day we discovered that it wasn't working and helped explain what was needed. John patiently explained our furnace options and answered all our questions even though it was late on a Friday night. It was a chilly weekend but Ramon and Charles arrived early Monday to replace the furnace and outdoor air conditioning unit, despite the cold and pouring rain. Remon and Charles, Technicians for Blue Dot, called twenty minutes before arrival to inform me that they were on the way to install mynew air conditioning unit as previously scheduled. They introduced themselves and explained exactly what they would do to install and make sure the unit was running. They put on butties as they entered my house and used drop clothes on my floors. They worked quietly and efficiently and answered all of my questions about the installation. when they finished they cleaned everything up and put everything back in place. They again showed me what they did, tested the heating and air conditioning units in my presents, before asking me to sign off on the work. I have always loved my service technician, Fernando who comes twice a year to service those units. When we "bit the bullet" and replaced both systems we had 2 teams come in 2 consecutive days. I had a complete heating system installed by Blue Dot. A heat pump/air conditioner and an oil furnace as backup heat. My salesman Chuck C was very helpful in designing what I needed and what I could afford. The installers Charles R. and Ramon R. were very professional and explained along the way what they were doing so that I could be aware of how my new system worked. After installation, Adam B. and Roger C. made sure that the system installation was calibrated to my requirements and explained my new thermostat.
