Was unsure of problem and had to call to figure outside supervision for suggestions. And did not have equipment to test heating elements. He turned heating elements to higher temp settings and said to turn down as needed. Charges for this type of assessment are unreasonable when servicing AFC own sale of installed product while under warranty.

We called to schedule a service appointment and were told they would need to call us back. More than a week went by and nobody called us back. We called again and were able to schedule an appointment to look into gurgling sound in the hot water baseboard and a very hot smell. Weren't given a definite time but told technician would call when he finished a prior job. He called and showed up as scheduled late in the day. Turned out that the person who came a few weeks earlier had turned off a water valve that feeds into the boiler system so no water could get in. We are lucky that no serious problem occurred and very lucky we made arrangements to get the gurgling, overheating pipes in the baseboards checked out.

This was not a good experience 1) my part was not ordered for 3 days. 2) communications were non existent. 3) I was charged almost $800.00 for a blower motor replacement. My furnace was installed less than 7 years ago by AFC there is an implied warranty and I have not decided whether I will go to the AG's office or not. It took 16 days to get my furnace running and that is because of my calling them because they were not calling me when they stated they would. This was not a good experience for me and I still am not happy.

I have 3 properties, AFC only serviced one -- of course, the other 2 properties needed repairs and the vendors we were using couldn't get there for a week. I called AFC and they were there in an hour. I've had many, many other repairs needed in the past 6 months, used AFC exclusively for plumbing, electrical & heating -- very efficient, prompt, always over delivers. They are not the least expensive, but you definitely get what you pay for. We've had at least 7 different technicians and they have all been very professional, friendly, totally understood what I wanted, explained what they did and actually FIXED the issue! Yes, we've had a couple of issues with AFC that irritated me, but they were very quick to address my concerns and resolved them promptly.

I am not a "happy camper" as far as AFC goes. The appointment time was not adhered to...I was given wrong information concerning the placement of a 500 gallon tank...and I was given two completely different prices for the job.

My new Kohler 10kwh generator broke down during the recent windstorm power outage. I called and a service person showed up the same day (Friday). After about 3 hrs, he said he couldn't fix it and told me to call AFC Monday. I have called AFC several times since and was always told 'we'll get back to you'. No one has called me about the generator and it is still not repaired. I have been billed for the time the service person spent here, despite not fixing the generator. Plus, the breakdown occurred within the warranty period. I am not satisfied.

The technicians are tremendous, as they are the face of the company, and they do the work. Dan was at our house and I cannot say enough about his knowledge of of boilers and his explaining of everything that he did. Thanks for being there for all of us.

The Monday before thanksgiving Owen, using several types of "snakes" diagnosed a blockage in sewer connection to city sewer. When I asked if I could get it done before thanksgiving he said he'd give me emergency status but he couldn't guarantee it. When I called on Tuesday I was told they were waiting for Owen's paperwork; I called Wednesday and as told they were still waiting for paperwork. I called Monday next week and was told my name was on he list for an estimator . I expressed concern that ground was beginning to freeze and was told that there was still time to do work. I am disappointed in AFC's service.

Had the furnace cleaned in October, a few weeks later started belching black smoke. Alex and Dan came out the day after I called, spent about 5 hours resolving the issue. No charge. Last winter my external water heater tank started leaking. AFC took care of the warranty for me. Only paid for the labor to install a new tank. Also last winter my oil tank was due for a refill on a Monday. Problem was a blizzard was due that day. AFC came out on a Sunday to refill the tank. Am very pleased with AFC.
