Peggy and Stan Electricians came to my home today. Went into my 100 plus degree attic with not one complaint. Found the problem, did trouble shooting to find the least invasive way to solve the problem. Universe will be back Thursday to execute the plan while my new CAC unit will be installed. Every time I've called for service or visited the store on Merrick Road, I have always found the personnel to be extremely knowledgeable, courteous and helpful. A few times when I visited and thought I needed a specific part that I believed was defective, the counter person did a test on the part I brought, and not only told me I didn't need the part I was going to purchase, but instructed me on where he thought the problem could be. And he was right! Saving me over $100 on the purchase of a part I didn't need. Also, when I looked into repairing my old washing machine, the service rep advised me due to the age of my machine and the cost it would be to repair it, he suggested it was not worth repairing the old machine because after this part would be repaired, another part may break down. For these reasons, and my brother's recommendation on how professional Universe was when they installed his system at his house, did I contract with Universe to install an AC Ductless System in my home. The sales rep, John Van Horn, was extremely knowledgeable and helpful and never pressured me into anything. As you can see, I have nothing but praise for this company (and I'm not related to any of them). I'm just an average consumer that appreciates a company that helps its customers resolve their problems and not just interested in making a sale to benefit themselves. Excellent plumbing service from Universe Appliance Repairs. After some searching, the service technician Ed discovered the cause of a leak in my basement was from a deteriorated pipe behind my kitchen sink. He repaired the pipe and corrected the situation. Universe Home Services has turned out to be a valuable resource. We've used their plumbing services, replaced a hot water heater, and most recently were put in a position where we had no choice but to replace our central air conditioning, which of course, happened during a three day heat wave. Mike C lead Tristan M and a team of field service techs during the removal and installation process. Mike C was exceptional at supervising the team and keeping the job moving. He was knowledgeable personable, and provided clear explanations about the the unit and all work done that day. He along with the other field service techs were respectful of our home, keeping the job neat inside and outside. We can honestly say this about every field service tech who has come to our home whether it has been in a maintenance or repair capacity. Universe has provided excellent customer service from the representatives we speak with on the phone to the supervisors and sales consultant. Pricing on all jobs have been fair. Minor hiccups have been dealt with promptly and courteously. We have been very happy and satisfied with all our interactions with Universe. They are a solid and dependable company. Everything was good to excellent. I was under the impression that the service contract provided 24/7 service, so my only complaint is that we had to go without hot water from Sunday evening through to around 1 P.M. Monday, which was inconsistent with the usual, same day emergency service we are accustomed to for the past five years with Universe. Also, the Sunday evening call to Universe was answered by a recorded message indicating it would be replied to Monday morning between 7:30 am to 8:30 am, which did not happen. After 8:30 I had to call about five times, going through the various menu options, before someone picked up. Not good. 07/23/19 |

Universe Appliance has replaced my 14 year old central air conditioner 2 years ago with a brand new unit. They did an excellent job then and I continue to have them do a service/ tuneup every year to make sure it’s running in tip top shape. I just recently had an issue with my unit and they serviced it within 2 days. Actually they came a day early as they had some free time which was great. I have had the same technician Steve B.
