Mike H. arrived on time, was very professional and easy to work with. He was able to diagnose the issue we had with our furnace, fix that and check the other components to make sure they were working properly. Super helpful, informative and honest. We are new to area and didnt know who to call for service, advice on our system, our neighbor recommended Sunset. ********************* came out, What a wonder Tech, your fortunate to have him on your team, we have a digital thermostat with no paperwork! **** quickly went thru the thermostat, changed a few setting that were incorrect and in understandable detail explained EVERYTHING to us in regards to set up and usage of our system He is VERY knowledgeable, honest and polite, we felt comfortable and well taken care of, from start to finish, we will always use Sunset and will request *********************, GOOD JOB!!! ********************* provided timely service on our HVAC, but - more than that - he took the time to review how everything works together with me. He told me how to save money with regular maintenance and taught me about my thermostat. I know that my money was well spent with Sunset Heating & Cooling, and now I feel like a better educated consumer as well. (See More)

We are in a service plan with Sunset which means we paid to be in plan/contract. Part of being in the plan means when something goes wrong with your unit and you need service they make you a priority. We have been loyal customers for about 10 years. We get yearly maintenance on our unit to make sure it is functioning properly. Today, the hottest day of the year, our furnace blower seized. When we called Sunset to come out, they sent Eric E out. Eric was very cordial, polite and sympathetic. However, Eric informed us that Sunset no longer did installs in the Vancouver area. This was news to us. This means because we had a contract we lose 15% off of parts and labor and priority service. They left us stranded with no AC on the hottest day of the year trying to find a new AC company. We were not notified back when they decided to no longer install services in Vancouver. The tech they send out Eric was very apologetic and tried calling around for us. There was very little he could do from his end but he was all in all trying to be helpful and connect us with another service. Due to the weather everyone is back logged. In the end they lost a loyal customer. (See More)

We've been totally happy with Sunset since they installed our original heating and AC years ago. That system outlived it's life expectanty (I'm sure thanks to Sunset's annual tune-ups). Now we've replaced it with a new Daikin system. The main tech doing the install was David Knox and he and his helpers and the Sunset electrican did a great job. David left the area clean and took time to answer all our questions and orient us to the new system and thermostat. Friendly guy who obviously knows his stuff. (See More)

Dustin was outstanding. I expected the installation would be professionally accomplished and it was. Dustin took the time to educate me on the Nest thermostat and the associated app. He identified the cause of the furnace malfunction (a faulty 10 year old relay) and fixed it. Because of the coronavirus outbreak he wore a mask the entire time he was on our property as well as shoe covers while inside the house as well as maintaining a six foot distance between me and him. Upon arrival he stated he used hand sanitizer as he exited his vehicle. Lastly, his personality was up-beat and positive. He made us feel very comfortable in our own home. I would use Sunset Heating and cooling again and I would ask specifically for Dustin. (See More)

I just had Mike Hertel do a tune up on my furnance and have had others in the past do it also and have been very pleased with the service. Mike was very easy to talk to and explained everything to me so I completely understood. I will be getting my AC tuneup pretty soon and will be asking for Mike again, Sunset has very good techs and have all been very nice and professional and I will always use them for my heating and AC work. Also I had the opportunity to talk to two very nice and helpful ladies in the office who were very knowledgeable and sweet. (See More)

Trae evaluated and made necessary adjustments to our furnace to eliminate a metal banging noise. He is very knowledgeable in his field and explains exactly the work he is doing and why. Trae is careful to not damage our home, and cleans up any debris before leaving. I will gladly request his service again if and when needed. (See More)

In June I ordered a Lennox furnace and air conditioner from Sunset Heating and Cooling using the Costco Kiosk Program. I choose Sunset over a competitor who had a slightly lower bid for the same Lennox system since I believed I would have an exceptional customer service experience based on my past 25 years of shopping at Costco. That was certainly not the case for the following reasons. - I was on a tight schedule since the HVAC replacement was being done in conjunction with a concrete patio I was having installed in the backyard. Sunset decommitted from the original date promised after all the paperwork was signed. - Even though the original contract clearly stated that the house where the new HVAC system was being installed was a rental, Sunset sent all paperwork to the rental address instead of my home address. - Within a few days of the installation being completed, the AC system died. A Sunset technician came to the house the next day and found the condensation pump was improperly installed with crimped lines causing the unit to fail. - At 2 am on the same night following the repair, the AC system died again. Two days later, a technician came to the house and claimed that the problem was a switch on the garage wall was turned off. No one had been in the garage that night or even knew of the existence of this switch. The technician without authorization wrote on the garage wall “Do not turn off this switch”. I received a bill of $54.50 sent to the wrong address for this second service call. I was flabbergasted to say the least after seeing that I was billed for this second service call. This is especially true after Sunset did a poor job on the original installation and that the system died within 12 hours of the 1st repair. After explaining my side of the story with Sunset, not only did the person I spoke with not apologize for any inconvenience they might have cause, they refused to take away the service charge. Costco did reimburse me for the $54.50 which I used to pay the bill, but this entire experience fell far short of the level of service I have come to expect from Costco or one of its sub-contractors. I can unequivocally say that I will never use Sunset Heating and Cooling again, nor will I recommend their services to anyone. (See More)

The Sunset team did a thorough installation of Lennox AC, contacted thru Costco's Lennox HAVC consultation service. About five professionals, consultation, measurement, and installation as well as electricians ensured a fine, right sized AC system was chosen and its efficient functions last. Sunset installed a new furnace and AC unit at my house. From the initial consultation with David, to the inspection and setup with Jake, through the install with Mike and Chris, this was a great interaction. I appreciate that this team was transparent, helpful and trustworthy. I felt like I received professional advice in my best interest, and in the best interest of the install. The finish work on the install was excellent, and I appreciate the small touches in making sure insulation, wall closures, wiring, etc. looked tidy and discrete. Very well done and appreciated.
