Oscar has been my favorite plumbing technician for nearly a decade. He is prompt, courteous, neat and impeccably clean in his work, knows exactly what he is doing and I trust him completely to do anything. Today, he did the repairs I had planned on and noticed another problem, fixed it, and prevented the need for a far more costly repair in the near future. Dutton is a good and reputable company and Oscar is wonderful (and a very nice person, too). As is always the case, I know when Oscar and his assistant have been here, I can fully trust the excellent quality of their work. I so appreciate this! Still my favorite. When I initially called, I told Vince that I needed muscle and not brains for a pretty simple job with one small glitch. I had a terrible plumbing problem ( collapsed sewer line) on Christmas eve. Following early Saturday morning work and a determination of where in my piping the major drain sewer clog was (see Craig’s review!), Jay was called in as a drain specialist and arrived just after 11am. Jay and Edgar stayed throughout the rest of the day to ensure that the recommended ABS pipe joint correction (to code, addition of a clean-out pipe and subsequent Hydro JETT scrub of a severely compromised cast iron section (the clog) of the piping were performed expertly, to Jay’s and my satisfaction. I viewed the before & after via the snaked scope, and even took photos. The Dutton technicians seem to go the extra mile when it comes to customer service, courtesy -and fairness. Having just moved to CA from the northeast, I panicked when my entire drain system backed up on a Friday night. No toilets – eek! Craig arrived at my new-to-me (but neglected 30-year old home by 8:30am the next day, yes – a Saturday. The initial pre-scope diagnosis morphed post-scope into some major work that lasted until 5pm when Craig called in another technician (see Jay’s review!). In addition to diagnostics, Craig also corrected my spraying tub faucet and reset and caulked the master bath toilet; it’s secure and looks brand new. Definitely recommend Dutton Plumbing and especially the rep who helped us, Ryan J. We had 2 chronically drippy faucets we had not gotten around to fixing, and woke up one morning to find one had been running all night and could not be turned off at all. When I could not reach the last plumber we had used, I opened the Yellow Pages and found Dutton. Their phone rep was very courteous, they told me they could send someone over the same morning, and they even sent me an e-mail with a photo and bio of the service rep who would be coming. Without a doubt, Dutton Plumbing was THE best plumbing service that I have ever used. A couple of weeks ago I changed to a new propane provider and learned that the gas line under my cement driveway was leaking and needed to be dug up and replaced. After I learned that my regular plumber was not capable of doing the job I searched the net and contacted Dutton Plumbing. Within 30 minutes a truck was at my door. The technician Craig C surveyed the problem and came up with a repair plan. When I asked when they could start, Craig said, "Right now!" And, they worked into the night to complete the the job the very same day so that my propane service could be restored immediately. Needless to say I was impressed. Called to have a small problem handled with my refrigerator water line. Brian quickly took care of this and asked why I had a hose attached to my washing machine. I explained that the drain line for the washer was backing up due to rust buildup in the pipe and that a number of plumbers including Dutton had previously checked it and recommended replacing the line at a cost of & $5000 or power flushing the line but there was a good chance it wouldn't work and could break the pipe. I used the hose to drain the washer into the side yard. Brian said I could face a fine from the city and recommended snaking the pipe to see if it would break out the buildup. He and his helper did it and were able to clean the stoppage. They also checked my water heater and replaced a part to keep it working longer. All this for less than $600. He said if I had any future problem with the washer backing up they could power flush it to restore full usage. Brian was not only courteous, efficient and very knowledgeable but complete my repair quickly and saved my a possible fine and a lot of repair charges. They cleaned up and left my premises cleaner than before. I have always used Dutton Plumbing and would recommend them and Brian as being a very honest and reliable plumber.
