We bought a house in Saugerties in 2017 and have found Bottini Fuel to be very professional and helpful. Once, when we were not able to plough the snow and the Bottini Truck could not get onto the property to fill our tank they immediately contacted us. We in turn contacted our neighbor and they agreed that Bottini could use their property to reach ours. Bottini returned the same day and filled the tank. Bottini Fuel is reliable, community-centered, and very focused on professionalism and deliveries on time for members who live locally and often have to contend with harsh winters and other natural or societal constraints. They have built on price transparency measures, and care about their customers and their community. My only suggestion is to offer more flexible minimums for fuel delivery for these times, and moving forward. Perhaps dedicate one driver one day a month to deliver to those who may not be able to afford the minimum delivery quotients. Very friendly staff and company overall. Thanks. Bathini has always monitored our tanks so that we never run out of fuel. For people who sometimes travel away from home, this is the reason why I don’t switch to another company or a co-op. My life and quality of my life was in the service technician's hands but I did not realize it. Carbon monoxide poisoning is serious and can be deadly. This rating starts with the July 2, 2020 annual boiler cleaning. A couple of days after the cleaning I noticed oil on the floor in front of the boiler. Called for service and a different tech responded. He said a screw(s) was not tightened as it should have been; that the technician who had done the annual cleaning was a new hire (quickly revised to experienced but new to Bottini) so had not seen a memo that circulated telling that screw(s) needed to be tightened. Monday, August 17, 2020, I began to feel sick (headache, nausea, ...). I had closed windows since the temperature lowered; therefore, greatly reduced ventilation in the house. Wednesday, August 19, 2020, I finally listened to 2 neighbors who said black smoke was coming from my chimney and I should call for service. I called and same technician who had done original cleaning arrived - don't know name but yellow service sheet has Technician 390. He said problem was caused by loose vent pipe that is just above the boiler top. (Note: There are probably technical terms for what was loose.) Why was pipe loose??? Looks like it was left that way after annual cleaning. And was not noticed by 2nd technician! Talking to my son later that day about my symptoms & what the technician told me, my son said it sounds like I have carbon monoxide poisoning. I agree. I've been thoroughly ventilating my house. Physically I feel better & hope I have no brain damage. Note: Technician did not suggest ventilating my house or getting carbon monoxide detectors. After a frustrating experience with my previous propane company, I discovered Bottini. I first used them in November of 2019 when I needed a new gas stove installed in my kitchen. My previous gas company took over two weeks just to get an estimate and couldn’t promise me they could do the work before Thanksgiving. When I called Bottini their salesman Matt came out right away and gave me a price right on the spot. They scheduled the install for the following week and my new stove was ready to go for Thanksgiving. Their tech, Joe, did a great job! So this summer I used them again when I decided to move my tanks to a different location. Again they took care of me in a reasonable amount of time with a reasonable rate to do the work.
