Although price was too high ($800 plus for a 1 hour job) I was happy with the work. I also liked the well coordinated effort between the office and the field guys. Would use them again, and especially Mike.

I actually had 2 jobs that Mike took care of. He replaced a hot water heater and also the main water valve. He needed to work with the city and had it all done in a couple of hours. I'll always go to a business like Lake Cook instead of hiring a handyman.

Called to get a sink unclogged. Mike seemed uninterested in fixing it and only quoted a very expensive alternative of tearing out drywall just to add hooks to the pipes, which had already been completed extensively before the basement was finished. He ended up leaving without unclogging the drain and I had to call another plumber to do it.

I called to get an estimate for rodding out window well drains. I was specific about what I expected. Instead of getting a free estimate, it would cost me $50 for someone to come out. When their plumber came out, I reviewed want I wanted, he said that they would have to bring a camera to look inside the drain to see if it was plugged. This would cost me $479 and then they would see if they felt they could clear it. I was told that "If it turned out to be completely blocked, it could get really expensive". When I said that $479 is a lot of money just to stick the camera in the drain, he replied that they have to pay for the depreciation of the camera, call a plumber out to analyze the picture... sounded to me like they might not know even after they had pictures. The estimate was supposed to let me know what the cost would be. I rejected going forward and tested the drains by flooding them with water from my hose which they handled just fine. I felt like I was being led on; why wouldn't they have brought the camera to start with?

olly and Mike E were both helpful and honest. Molly gave me an appt for the same day I called. Mike came early and reviewed my problem. Mike said at this time we did not need a new kitchen faucet which saved us money.

It was clear that this was not a job Lake Cook wanted. To quote over 900 dollars to cut 2 pipes, pull out a softener, slide another one in and reconnect pipes? Even if some adjustments had to be made this might be a 2 hour job. Got it done with a licensed plumber for 1/8th the cost. I would only suggest that if a job is not one Lake Cook wants, it's much easier to just say that up front/
